Alles ist zu schnell, zu viel, zu laut. Die wahre Kunst der Langsamkeit, so scheint es, haben wir Menschen verlernt. Selbst Erholung hatten wir durchoptimiert. Aber es gibt eine, die die Entschleunigung verinnerlicht hat: LIV SOLVEIG. Die Musik der norwegisch-deutschen Singer-Songwriterin entfaltet ihre anmutende Schönheit aus der Ruhe – fernab jeglicher Klischees und mit urbanem Twist. Ihr Sound rauscht und pulsiert, als wäre man auf dem Weg aus tiefen Wäldern, hinein in die Großstadt - „Scandinavian Symphonic Indie“- atmosphärisch dicht und nebelverhangen schön. Die Geschichte ihres Debütalbums „Slow Travels“, das am 14.05.2021 erscheint, ist die Geschichte von Liv Solveig selbst. „Es ist eine Ode an den Delay“, sagt sie und lächelt. Die Stücke auf dem Erstling sind wie ein Patchwork aus Einflüssen der Welt, die die Künstlerin zu einer musikalischen Heimat zusammenfügt: Klassik-Background, Harlemer Jazz-Einflüsse, Folk-Spirit eines früheren Projekts. Über den komplexen Arrangements schwebt Livs Stimme, oder besser gesagt, ihre Stimmen: Choräle, die sowohl an die Gesänge des indigenen Volks der Samen erinnern, als auch Spuren ihrer Kindheit sind, da Liv Solveig die Tochter einer Organistin und eines Pfarrer ist. Sie ist von Bach ebenso inspiriert wie etwa von Sigur Ros. Aus der Strenge des Pfarrerhaushalts hat sich Liv längst befreit. Das Album ist gleichzeitig ihr persönliches Statement. Liv versteckt sich nicht hinter gesellschaftlichen und musikalischen Gerüsten. Sie zeigt, wer sie ist. Sie zeigt offen ihre Queerness und will damit sagen: Sei so wie Du bist! Mit Soundkünstler und Indieproduzent Tobias Siebert (Me And My Drummer, Enno Bunger, Mister Me u.a.) hat sie die Lieder auf „Slow Travels“ gemeinsam produziert. „Ich hatte das Album schon fertig, als ich festgestellt habe: Nein, das ist es noch nicht, die Songs brauchen noch mehr Zeit.“ Für die Musikerin keine Frage: Die nimmt sie sich, aus Überzeugung. „Da habe ich gelernt, mutig zu sein, Dinge wegzulassen – hinterher war es eine riesige Erleichterung“, beschreibt sie den Prozess. Liv hat jede Spur noch einmal überarbeitet und neu eingesungen. Man hört die Behutsamkeit aus jeder Sekunde, mit der sich die Multi-Instrumentalistin (Geige, Gitarre, Klavier), die alle zehn Songs selbst arrangiert hat, jedem Backing-Vocal-Schlenker, jedem Hall, jedem Alltagsgeräusch im Hintergrund widmete. Jedes Element erzählt eine Geschichte, und schult eine weitere Kunst: das wirkliche Hinhören. „Musik braucht Weite“, sagt sie – so wie sie selbst. Aktuell lebt sie in Berlin, aber bei der Nomadin Liv weiß man nie so genau: Acht Jahre lang schlief auf den Sofas dieser Welt bei Freunden, und falls ihr freier Geist auf einem anderen Kontinent eine Melodie wittert, packt sie auch schon einmal ihre Siebensachen und lebt aus dem Koffer. Nicht nur die Musik, auch Liv Solveigs poetische Sprache entführt in andere Welten: In „Heartbeat of Shibuya“ spürt sie die Essenz Tokios auf. „One Morning in Harlem“ beschreibt, wie man zur aufwachenden Stadt einschläft. Mit der Indie-Rock Nummer „How Far“ geht sie auf eine gedankliche Reise. Durch Livs surreal schönes Songwriting vermag dieser Song über eine Fernbeziehung, die schmerzliche Distanz eines Ozeans fühlbar zu machen. „How far is the ocean? How far is the moon?” In diesem Fall nur eine Songlänge entfernt. Livs Songs erzählen Geschichten von Menschen, die driften. Dabei ist ihr wichtig: „Umweg ist kein Fehler“, sagt sie. Ihr Programm, sozusagen. „Why Were You Smiling“ - ihre erste Single, handelt von einem missverständlichen Lächeln, welches eine große Krise auslöst, um letztendlich positiv nach vorn zu schauen. Auch „Start Again“ erzählt von einem Neuanfang. „Bei der zweiten Etappe meiner Arbeit am Album habe ich mir vorgenommen, erst aufzuhören, bis ich ALLES gut finde“, sagt sie. Es ist gelungen: Mit "Cold Heart" beginnt so Livs Debütplatte aus dem Nichts heraus, kündigt Brodelndes an und führt mit dem Titellied "Slowly, Travels" wieder in die versöhnliche, choralartige Harmonie zurück: mit einer Art Mantra: „Moving ends slowly turn – we are safe“. Denn in der Ruhe liegt unsere Kraft.

Doch darauf ruht er sich keineswegs aus. Seine Liebe zur Musik und sein unermüdlicher Drang nach neuen Herausforderungen unterstreicht er nun mit seiner ersten deutschsprachigen Single „Meine Mama“. Mit fast schon rotziger Poesie und Bewunderung, zelebriert der Song seine größten Heldinnen der Welt: Mütter und Frauen. Um es mit Keyes Worten zu sagen: „Ich scheiß aufs ausgelutschte Liebeslied, weil es Lieder für Mamas halt einfach zu wenig gibt!“ „Meine Mama“ erscheint 07.05.2021, kurz vor dem Muttertag. Es ist Hommage, ein fettes Danke an alle Mütter und Frauen dieser Welt - die wahren “Macher”. Sie kämpfen mit Stärke, Mut und nie endender Ausdauer. Als Erzähler mit erhabener Stimme taucht Keye in die gesamte Gesellschaft ein und legt dabei ungleiche und veraltete Strukturen offen, die auch ihn betreffen. Keye selbst hat seine eigene Weiblichkeit schon immer mit Stolz hemmungslos nach außen getragen und machte sich dadurch zur Zielscheibe von Intoleranz. Ein Grund mehr, sich mit allen großartigen Ladies dieser Welt zu solidarisieren und dem Patriarchat den Mittelfinger zu zeigen, denn: „Meine Mama hat dickere Eier als die, die es nicht annähernd raffen, was Frauen dulden und machen!“. Zum starken Inhalt des Songs gesellen sich treibende Elektro-Pop Beats, die ähnlich zum Text mal zärtlich und mal rough sind. Besonders viel Spaß macht dazu der Vocoder-Effekt, der dezente Akzente und somit den Neue Deutsche Welle Flair in diese Hymne bringt. Ganz klar eine Ehrung an den Zeitgeist von Mama. Mit unverkennbarem Stolz schreit Keye Ungerechtigkeiten heraus – rebellisch und doch cool und gelassen nimmt er kein Blatt vor den Mund. In Zusammenarbeit mit dem Produzenten Ron Oseland aus Hannover (u.a. Timo Maas, Martin Buttrich), der bereits an der EP „Love and Pain“ mitwirkte, hat Keye Katcher damit eine ganz neue Art von Mama Worship-Song geschaffen. Doch Keye Katcher wäre nicht Keye Katcher, wenn er nicht auch großen Wert auf die visuelle Umsetzung zu „Meine Mama“ legen würde – auf den ‘Eye Catcher’. Das Musik-Video zeigt Freude und Leid vereint, kurz - alles was wir sind. Chanson Noir-Schöpferin Magdalena Ganter schlüpft auf ihrem ersten unter eigenem Namen veröffentlichten Album in viele Rollen, bleibt dabei aber immer: ganz sie selbst. All die Facetten zwischen Stille und Spektakel gehören schließlich zu ihrer vielschichtigen Persönlichkeit, die sie – gemeinsam mit ihrem musikalischen Partner SimonSteger, der ihr schon im Electro-Chanson-Trio Mockemalör zur Seite stand – auf Neo Noir so ungefiltert wie noch nie auf ihr Publikum loslässt. War sie bei hiernoch Kunstfigur, zeigt das Solo-Debüt kein Alter Ego mehr, sondern eine gereifte, bei sich selbst angekommene Künstlerin. Inspiriert von den kammerorchestralen Klängen der Zwanzigerjahre gelingt der Magdalena Ganter auf „Neo Noir“ der unbekümmerte, doch nie unbedarfte Flirt mit den Brüchen: Varieté verquickt sie mit Jazz, schüttet aus dem Ärmel eine Prise Indie dazu und würzt das Ganze mit atmosphärisch- perkussiven Klängen zu einer ebenso wilden wie bekömmlichen Mixtur, über die sie mit zwischen eindringlichem Flüstern und federleichter Koloratur changierender Stimme ihre wortwitzdurchwebten Texte schüttet. Dabei steht das Lied selbst im Mittelpunkt. Dreizehn Vier- Minuten- Miniaturen kreisen um Ganters Lebensthemen Freiheit, Aufbruch und Emanzipation, Zweifel, Angst und ihre Überwindung. Fast immer mit von der Partie: Das ironische Augenzwinkern, wie in der Single „Nackt“. Sie singt vom Mut, den es zum Losmarschieren brauchtwie in „Neue Ufer“ – wie ein wahrer Befreiungsschlag, und dem Endlichankommen, ob bei sich selbst oder im gefühlten Zuhause– wie in „Schutzraum“. „Ich fühle mich“, so Ganter, „bei mir wie noch nie.“ Angekommen und angenommen. Und so geht es auf „Neo Noir“ dann auch um Nähe und Verbindung bei einer gleichzeitigen Offenheit für die kleinen Alltagsfluchten, die nicht selten voller Situationskomik stecken, welche bei Ganter – die ihr komödiantisches Talent hier einmal mehr sorgsam kultiviert – wiederum derart lakonisch daherkommt, dass der Hörer nicht weiß, ob er denn nun lachen oder weinen soll. Oder beides. Produziert wurde „Neo Noir“ komplett von Tobias Siebert (Me & And My Drummer, Enno Bunger, And The Golden Choir). Eine Entscheidung und Kollaboration, die sich als goldrichtig erwies. Aufgenommen in zwei Phasen – Klavier und Gesang kurz vor dem ersten Lockdown im Februar, die Band kurz nach dem Lockdown im September – steht das Lied selbst im Fokus dieses intimen Albums, das Geschichtenerzählen, das etwas vom Blättern in einem Tagebuch hat. Während dem elektronischen Equipment von Ganters letzter Band nur mit einem Tourbus beizukommen war, sollten ihre eigenen Songs „überall dort funktionieren, wo ein Klavier steht“, wie die Künstlerin sagt. Es war ihr vor allem darum zu tun, ihre in den letzten Jahren gewachsene Sehnsucht, einfach nur Musik zu machen, zu stillen. Und nicht zuletzt um eine gewisse Unabhängigkeit. Denn auch, wenn sie in ihren Live-Shows auf Steger als Pianisten zurückgreift, ist sie selbst auf den Aufnahmen an den Tasten zu hören – die Bedingung von Produzent Siebert, um die Platte mit ihr zu machen. Aber es gibt eine, die die Entschleunigung verinnerlicht hat: LIV SOLVEIG. Die Musik der norwegisch-deutschen Singer-Songwriterin entfaltet ihre anmutende Schönheit aus der Ruhe – fernab jeglicher Klischees und mit urbanem Twist. Ihr Sound rauscht und pulsiert, als wäre man auf dem Weg aus tiefen Wäldern, hinein in die Großstadt - „Scandinavian Symphonic Indie“- atmosphärisch dicht und nebelverhangen schön. "How Far" ist der direkte Vorbote zu ihrem Debütalbum „Slow Travels“ (14.05.21). Der Song mag in vielerlei Hinsicht ein Indie-Rock-Song sein, aber die norwegisch-deutsche Künstlerin Liv Solveig wäre nicht Liv Solveig, würde sie dem nicht einen völlig neuen Spin geben. Mit großer Geste, bis in die feinstofflichste Ebene hinein, verleiht sie dem treibenden Schlagzeug, der brodelnden Basslinie und der Akustikgitarre einen mondhell glänzenden Schein. Es ist Liv Solveigs surreal schönem Songwriting zu verdanken, dass dieser Song über eine Fernbeziehung es vermag, die schmerzliche Distanz eines Ozeans fühlbar zu machen, aber eben auch, die geliebte Person plötzlich hautnah erscheinen zu lassen. Über ihre dritte Single sagt Solveig: „Ich wollte das Lied groß und weit klingen lassen und habe dafür viele Chorstimmen eingebaut, um genau diese Atmosphäre auszudrücken. Für mich ist das Lied das positivste Lied auf der Platte und wirkt auf mich befreiend.“ Sie singt: „How far is the ocean? How far is the moon?” In diesem Fall nur eine Songlänge entfernt. Im Video spiegeln die Regisseure Manu M. Reut and Peter Adamik diese Intensität faszinierend und magisch wider. Man kommt Liv hautnah - wie in „How Far“. Die Single wie das komplette Album wurden mit dem Soundkünstler und Indieproduzent Tobias Siebert (And The Golden Choir, Me And My Drummer, Enno Bunger u.a.) produziert. Man hört die Behutsamkeit aus jeder Sekunde, mit der sich die Multi-Instrumentalistin (Geige, Gitarre, Klavier) die alle zehn Songs selbst arrangierte, jedem Backing-Vocal-Schlenker, Hall und Alltagsgeräusch im Hintergrund widmete. So ist Liv auch live ein Erlebnis: Wie ein Solo-Orchester gibt sie jedem Instrument eine Stimme und scheint alles für einen Augenblick anhalten zu können. Ihre Spezialität: Das Spiel mit dem Geigenbogen auf der E-Gitarre.
