Alle zusammen auf dem Dancefloor, ausgelassen tanzend, sich am Ende in den Armen liegend. Eine Illusion? Für den queeren Künstler FERHAT eine großer Wunsch. Der in Berlin und Istanbul lebende schweizerisch-türkische Künstler veröffentlicht deshalb heute den Dance-Track LET ME BE. FERHATs persönliche Botschaft, „gemeinsam Liebe zu machen“, sein zu können, wie man ist. Egal welche Religion oder wen - was man liebt. Was zählt, ist die persönliche Freiheit. LET ME BE. FERHATs musikalisches Herz schlägt für Themen wie Erotik, Islam und Selbstbestimmung – deswegen wundert es nicht, dass das Musikvideo zu LET ME BE so sinnlich wie skandalös ist. In einer Zeit, in der seine „delikaten türkischen Themen“ sich durch politische und religiöse Extreme und globale Krisen vom Kommentar zur Klageschrift wandeln, wird FERHATs Urban-Pop gleichermaßen dringlicher und universeller. Die Tracks des queeren Künstlers betreffen nicht nur Liebe und Glauben, sondern auch persönliche Freiheit und zivilen Ungehorsam – in einer Welt, in der Angst und Vorurteile immer mehr auf dem Vormarsch sind. Den Song hat der Musiker mit Komponistin und Produzentin Jovanka von Wilsdorf (u.a. Polarkreis 18, Laing, Tim Benzko, Annette Humpe) geschrieben. Der extrem tanzbare Track zeigt, dass Selbstbestimmtheit verdammt viel Spaß macht, aber heute durchaus auch zum gefährlichen Statement geraten kann. Trotzdem pickt sich dieser furchtlose musikalische Guerillero weiterhin bewusst provokant die Kirschen aus den unterschiedlichen Kulturen: ISTANBUL, ZÜRICH, BERLIN – TRADITION, ZEITGEIST, PARTY – ORIENT, URBAN, BEATS Verschmelzung stachelt ihn an: FERHAT will die Moschee ins Berghain bringen und umgekehrt. „Für mich bedeutet Offenheit nicht nur theoretische political correctness, sondern auch auf nichts zu verzichten“, sagt er und stürzt sich kopfüber in seine Mission. „Die Idee kam mir, als ich in Berlin ständig das Gefühl hatte, mich für eine Szene entscheiden zu müssen. Entweder schwarz angezogen ins Berghain gehen, grimmig dreinschauend in Shisha-Bars rumhängen oder mich mit Birkenstocks dem veganen Diktat unterwerfen. In diesen Parallelgesellschaften findet kaum Vermischung statt und ich hatte enge Freundschaften, die allein aufgrund unterschiedlicher politischer Gesinnung kaputt gegangen sind. Ich frage mich: Warum darf ich nicht alle Anteile von mir ausleben; warum nicht all das sein, was ich liebe? In LET ME BE geht es darum, sich mit allen Facetten zu zeigen und zu Versöhnung und Frieden aufzurufen. Wir gehören doch alle zusammen. Am Ende sind wir alle Menschen und wenn die Corona-Krise etwas für sich hat, dann hoffentlich, dass unsere Gesellschaft wieder zusammenrückt. Deswegen kommen im Video unterschiedliche Extreme zusammen, um gemeinsam Liebe zu machen.“ Musikalisch übersetzt LET ME BE die Message in einen verspielt-ausgelassenen Dance-Track, der 2019 vorab den „European Songwriting Award“ gewonnen hat, während das dazugehörige Video jetzt noch einen drauflegt: Unter der Regie von Stephanie von Beauvais zelebriert der Clip eine Party, die bisher nur in FERHATs Fantasie existiert: Muslimische Frauen tanzen eng umschlungen mit harten Typen in Lederkluft und Menschen aller Minderheiten küssen sich leidenschaftlich in freier Liebe. „Obwohl das Video noch nicht offiziell veröffentlicht wurde, habe ich im Netz schon Hass-Kommentare bekommen – aber ich halte an meinem naiven Traum fest: Eine Welt ohne Grenzen. Die Gang mit dem familienunfreundlichsten Namen im Popbetrieb veröffentlicht den ersten Vorbote „Bewerte mich“ am 09.07.2021 aus ihrem vierten Album „Gefühle“(VÖ: Oktober 2021).
„Gefühle“ macht das Leben im Plattenbau beautiful again, empowert das Verkacken, erzählt von Panikattacken und verweist Männer auf ihren Platz (Hobelbank).
Erst kürzlich veröffentlichten The toten Crackhuren im Kofferraum (The TCHIK) ihren ersten Hit „Bewerte mich“ aus dem neuen Album „Gefühle“,das am 15.10.2021 erscheint. Mit dem körperstarken Video holen sie gegen den Schönheitswahn, Bewertungsmanie und Body Bashing aus.
Nun geht es in die nächste Runde. The TCHIK veröffentlichen am 27.08.21 gleich 2 Songs auf einen Schlag, die es wieder in sich haben: „Zurück in der Gosse“ / „Living the Dream“. Es geht um das eigene Leben in der Platte, den ständigen Hype, erfolgreich zu sein und immer was besseres und teures auf Tasche haben zu müssen. Doch für die Crackhuren zählen andere Werte. Arm aber sexy - man braucht keine Rolex, dickes Auto oder Konto. Das normale Leben im Plattenbau geht auch ohne fette Kohle. Es muss. Wirklich wertvoll und wichtig ist: man hat echte, gute Freunde und ein Dach überm Kopf. „Ich hab nichts auf'm Konto doch fühle mich trotzdem reich". Denn „Was bringt dir all die Kohle, wenn du kein Herz und Rückgrat hast“.(Zurück in der Gosse)

Arm aber sexy, das war mal ein Ausspruch des ehemaligen Bürgermeisters zu Berlin, Klaus Wowereit.
Dieser Slogan von 2003 besaß eine große Strahlkraft hinsichtlich des Berlins des neuen Jahrtausends, war aber letztlich bloß Stadtmarketing. Stadtmarketing, das dir durch die Hintertür vermitteln wollte: Der Sozialstaat befindet sich im Rückbau, Du bist auf dich selbst gestellt, die Ära von Hartz4 beginnt - aber hey, dafür nennt dich die SPD immerhin sexy. Ziemlich gruselig.
Da machen sich The toten Crackhuren im Kofferraum den Soundtrack zum geilen Leben in prekären Verhältnissen lieber selbst. Die Doppelsingle „Zurück in der Gosse / Living the Dream“ ist eine Liebeserklärung ans eigene Milieu und was daraus erwachsen kann – auch ohne geerbte Wohnungen und einem kleinen Aktienportfolio (Festgeld gibt ja kaum noch Zinsen!).
Songwriterin Luise Fuckface a.k.a. Lulu lebt selbst in der Platte in Ost-Berlin. Die Prekariats-Lyrik ihrer Band (außer ihr noch Doreen, Kristin, Ilay) ist keine schicke Bürgerkinder-Kolportage, sondern findet sich beheimatet auf 28 Quadratmetern im 7. Stock. Beinah wäre das neue, das vierte Album der Crackhuren nach dem Plattenbau benannt worden, die Wahl fiel dann aber doch auf „Gefühle“. Passt auch.
Auf „Zurück in der Gosse“ scheinen Dich manche Keyboard-Passagen in die Achtziger zu schieben, man ist fast versucht, mal „Part Time Lover“ von Stevie Wonder drüber zu singen (klappt nicht wirklich), oder ist es doch eher, als würde Billie Eilish verhaltensauffälligen Melodicore machen? Genauso gut könnte man an einen Alkopop-affinen Hybrid aus Zugezogen Maskulin und Megan Thee Stallion denken. Das Stück schlägt jedenfalls mit Gesang und Text die Brücke zum Hier und Jetzt, mit den ganz zentralen Zeilen: „Was bringt dir all die Kohle / wenn Du kein Herz und Rückgrat hast?“
„Living the Dream in Ost-Berlin” ist ähnlich atmosphärisch angelegt. Ein Stream of Consciousness beschreibt das Leben vor dem Fenster, es ist nicht alles schön, was es zu sehen gibt, die Story konstatiert dann aber auch wieder „alles geile Leude“. Leude mit d – gesprochen wie geschrieben. Was will dein Deutschlehrer dagegen machen? The TCHIK haben ihren eigenen Style, der musikalisch hier mitunter sogar etwas von Wave und frühen Cure („Three Imaginary Boys“) besitzt.
Das hier ist dabei keine sentimentale Sozialromantik, sondern es ist viel eher sehr präzise Asozialromantik – und die haben die Crackhuren eben einfach besser drauf als jeder andere.

Nun holt er sich für seine neue Single “back to back” einen ganz besonderen Künstler an seine Seite: Duncan Laurence, den niederländischen ESC-Gewinner 2019, der mittlerweile ein bekannter und äußerst beliebter Popstar geworden ist. Zwei großartige Künstler haben sich somit zusammengetan und schicken mit „back to back“ (30.07.21) einen gemeinsamen Song in die Welt, der wahnsinnig berührt und förmlich unter die Haut geht. Im Song im wahrsten Sinne um das Rücken an Rücken liegen und trotz Nähe, Welten voneinander entfernt zu sein. Die Stimmen von Wrabel und Duncan verweben sich ineinander und harmonieren so wunderbar. Die Zusammenarbeit war von beiden ein Herzenswunsch. „back to back” entstand gemeinsam mit Kurtis McKenize (früher The Arcade), Léon und Jon Mills und dreht sich um ein Paar, das Rücken an Rücken im Bett liegt. Obwohl die beiden Menschen zusammen sind, fühlen sie sich allein und fragen sich, wie es soweit kommen konnte: Herzschmerz, Selbstwert und Zweifel. Das ehrliche Songwriting auf höchstem Level wird nur noch von Wrabels und Duncans unfassbar emotionalen Gesangsperformances übertroffen, die im gemeinsam gesungenen Chorus gipfeln. Wrabel selbst sagt zu „back to back”: „Es ist erstaunlich für mich, welche Kleinigkeiten zu großen Zerwürfnissen in Beziehungen führen können. Ich habe schon oft gehört, dass man nicht verärgert ins Bett gehen bzw. nicht im Streit auseinander gehen soll. Egal ob es Wut oder Traurigkeit ist, es fühlt sich schrecklich an. Aber man kann immer hoffen, dass es nur einen Stupser, ein Umdrehen oder ein einzelnes Wort braucht, um wieder zueinander zu finden und die Lücke zu schließen.“ Die neue Single ist die aktuelle Veröffentlichung zu Wrabels langerwartetem Debütalbum „these words are all for you“, Das Album wird am 24.09.2021 über Big Gay Records/Nettwerk Music Group erscheinen und lässt uns endlich tiefer in die Welt des vielseitigen Pop-Songwriters und aufstrebenden Solo-Artists einblicken. Als offenes Mitglied der LGBTQ+ Community, nutzt er seine Musiker-Plattform für die Interessenvertretung und lässt persönliche Erfahrungen in sein Songwriting einfließen. Die Gang mit dem familienunfreundlichsten Namen im Popbetrieb veröffentlicht den ersten Vorbote „Bewerte mich“ am 09.07.2021 aus ihrem vierten Album „Gefühle“(VÖ: Oktober 2021).
„Gefühle“ macht das Leben im Plattenbau beautiful again, empowert das Verkacken, erzählt von Panikattacken und verweist Männer auf ihren Platz (Hobelbank).
The TCHIK - wie man sie aus Platz- und Schamgründen auch schreiben kann - das sind Lulu, Doreen, Kristeenager, Ilay und das ist eine auf allen Ebenen außergewöhnliche Band.
13 Jahre Showbiz übersteht man eben nur, wenn man’s wirklich miteinander ernst meint. Mit leichtem Gepäck und emotionaler Distanz ist bei dieser Band niemand geholfen. „Wir lieben uns übertrieben“, sagt Lulu und meint es auch genauso. Lulu ist es dabei auch, die die bandmäßige Care-Arbeit leistet, Texte schreibt, Geistesblitze der anderen mitunter in Songzeilen packt und sich um das große Thema Musik kümmert.

Bewertungen sind das neue Geld. Jeder Konzern, jede Web-Transaktion und der Podcast deiner Mutter fordern sie sehnsüchtig ein. Natürlich bitte immer fünf von fünf Sternen, versteht sich. Mindestens.
The TCHIK allerdings haben nicht so viel Spaß an dieser letztlich steinalten Kultur-Praxis des Bewertens, oder, im Falle von weiblich gelesenen Körpern, vor allem des Bewertet-Werdens. Wieso auch?
„Bewerte mich“, das ist die erste Single ihres neuen Albums „Gefühle“, sie stellt textlich eine bizarre Klowand dar - vollgekritzelt mit ungefragten Männerkommentaren über Körper. Songwriterin Lulu hat davon viele selbst gehört, allerdings besitzt die be- und abwertende Sprüche-Geisterbahn des Songs etwas sehr Universelles. In diesem Stück findet sich jeder wieder - die Frage ist bloß, auf welcher Seite?
„Bewerte mich“ ist der passende Song, um beispielsweise den Ausknopf einer bekloppten Diät zu finden, die man ohnehin nur angefangen hatte, weil man mal wieder zu viel Instagram geguckt hat oder um sich eben gegen solch misogynen Punchlines zu immunisieren. „Bewerte mich“ immunisiert allerdings nicht sondern stellt das geschwätzige Elend viel lieber pointiert aus.
Musikalisch flimmert der Song zwischen atemlosem Electro-Pop und Eurodance, besser klangen The TCHIK nie, besondere Beachtung sollte auch „das maximal nervige Rumgebimmel im Hintergrund“ (O-Ton Lulu) finden. Positiv gemeint!
Schwer vorstellbar, dass es noch bessere Argumente für die Abschaffung des Wahlrechts für Männer geben könnte als dieses zauberhafte Stück der sympathischen Musikgruppe aus Berlin.

Dualität. Es gibt keine Männlichkeit ohne Weiblichkeit, keine Liebe ohne Schmerz, keine Entwicklung ohne Mut. Keye Katcher - ein Künstler der vor allem für eines steht: Vielseitigkeit mit Statement! Der queere Artist bewegt sich gern in verschiedenen Sphären, denn hier kann er sich seine eigene Welt facettenreich und divers gestalten. Und vor allem auch mit seiner Musik ein persönliches Zeichen setzen. Mit deutschen Texten und gesellschaftlich verankerten Themen zeigte Keye Katcher mit seiner ersten deutschsprachigen Single „Meine Mama“, dass seine Vielseitigkeit noch viel breiter ist als bereits gedacht. Nun folgt die zweite Popnummer aus der neuen Keye-Ära mit dem Titel „It`s Gonna be Good!“, die durch den Sommer strahlen wird: Tanzbar, groovy und Funk-geladen, kommt die zweisprachige Single „It’s Gonna be Good“ als Happy-Mood-Sommerhymne daher! Der lebendige Song wurde für eine Zeit geschrieben, in der nicht nur der Berliner Künstler, sondern wir alle viel positive Energie dringend brauchen. Ende vergangenen Jahres entstanden die ersten Skizzen, die Keye auch damals schon stückweit aus dem tristen Pandemie-Blues holten und ihm selbst eine optimistische Einstellung für 2021 brachten. Mit dem nun fertig produzierten Song wird aus einer schwierigen Situation eine gute gemacht und der Spieß freudig, sozialkritisch und lebensfroh umgedreht. Inhaltlich beschäftigt sich „It`s Gonna be Good“ unter anderem mit den verschiedenen Stimmen, die momentan die Gesellschaft repräsentieren. „Egal wie schlimm es ist, es wird nur schlimmer, wenn wir uns nicht zuhören“, meint Keye. Sich zuhören, sich in den Arm nehmen, vor allem in „bad times“, das ist der Schlüssel, um das alles gemeinsam durchzustehen. Dieser herzliche, positive und energiegeladene Part überwiegt ganz klar und zeigt uns allen die Wichtigkeit der Liebe und Zuversicht. In zwei Versionen, englischsprachig und englisch/deutsch, ist die Single zu hören und zeigt prägnant die globale Relevanz. baby of the bunch veröffentlichen ihre neue Single „Let’s Go Swimming“. Ein impulsiver, unbeschwerter Song, der die mit viel Energie die beste Laune verbreitet. Die vier jungen MusikerInnen aus Leipzig und Berlin machen seit Teenie-Zeiten zusammen Musik und haben bereits einige Singles und EPs erfolgreich veröffentlicht. Die Newcomerband steht auf den Sound und die Held*innen der Riot! Wave-Bewegung.
Mit „Let‘s Go Swimming“ legen sie diesmal echte Popnummer vor, die in ihrer mitreißenden Leichtigkeit den Soundtrack zum Lebensgefühl des Sommer beschreibt.
baby oft he bunch - vier eigenständige, kreative Zellen, vereinigt in einem produktiven Künstlerkollektiv, zudem verbunden seit nunmehr 6 Jahren schon. Und das mit gerade mal knapp 20.Nicht nur, dass ihre songwriterische Kreativität sprichwörtlich ist, auf ihren beiden bisher veröffentlichten EPs legte die junge Band bereits eine beeindruckende soundliche Diversität an den Tag. Treibend Gitarren, wilde Drums und Keys, Stimmen, die rauchig trotzig wie gefühlvoll weich alle Tonlagen mit Leichtigkeit erklimmen. Dabei steht’s mit ausdrucksstarken Lyrics und einem Augenzwinkern.
Mit den bereits veröffentlichten Singles „Ur Mom“ und „I Like That“festigte baby of the bunch ihren Ruf in der deutschen Newcomerszene, zu einer der aufregendsten Indiebands dieser Zeit zu zählen. Die Single „Chapstick Girl“ aus diesem Frühjahr ist ein druckvolles Stück, das die musikalischen Referenzen von baby oft he bunch klar auszusprechen vermag. Sie zeigt nicht nur eine weitere Seite der Band, sondern vor allem auch, dass sich sie sich mitnichten auf eine Schublade festlegen lassen möchte. Dieser Song wies bereits musikalisch und inhaltlich den Weg für das im Frühjahr 2022 geplante Debütalbum.
„Let's Go Swimming“ wurde mitten im ersten Lockdown geschrieben. Was auf den ersten Blick wie ein happy Sommersong im Vintage-Vibe aussieht, ist letzten Endes eine Art Abhandlung einer Reihe verpasster Chancen aus der Sicht eines jungen Menschen. Wie die Band es so schön unverblümt in ihrem Info zum knallbunter 80er Jahre Video ausdrückt:
"Klar, es ist echt viel passiert in den letzten Monaten aber hey! Wann, wenn nicht jetzt ist der richtige Zeitpunkt für einen solchen Song, der das Fernweh feiert und in uns vielleicht ganz kurz die Hoffnung an Normalität wieder erweckt? Davon können wir doch eigentlich nicht genug bekommen in Zeiten wie diesen."
„Let‘s Go Swimming“ - ein Song, der ebenso nach Befreiung, wie nach unbändiger Lebensfreude klingt, auf den Punkt geschrieben, soundlich durchformuliert. In kaum mehr als 2 Minuten, wird eine unbeschwerte Stimmung geschaffen, die man nur bei großen Popsongs spürt.
Wer nur einen Song von Baby of the bunch gehört hat, könnte leicht einen falschen Eindruck bekommen, denn der Stil der Band ist so vielfältig wie das Leben. Allen Songs gemeinsam ist eine anarchistische Wollust, immer gerade das zu erzählen, was der Augenblick von ihnen verlangt. Ihr Sound erinnert an Bands wie Sonic Youth, Babes In Toyland, Free Kitten sowie Shonen Knife oder – wie auf der neuen Single „Let‘s Go Swimming“ – an die spanische Indie-Band Hinds.
Für ihr kommendes Album stehen wieder ganz andere Sachen an, aber das ist im wahrsten Sinne des Wortes noch Zukunftsmusik. Jetzt heißt es erst einmal, das Leben mit einem un-konventionellen Feelgood-Sommersong so zu genießen, wie es genau in diesem Sehnsuchtslied postuliert wird: Come with me baby, let’s go swimming, have some fun!

circle&wind ist die Symbiose zweier Elemente: Puristische Klarheit trifft in ihrer Verletzlichkeit auf eine raue, tiefliegende und eindringliche Kraft. Warme, tiefe Vibes voller Gefühl und eine Stimme, die einen sofort in den Bann zieht, mit Worten umschließt und nicht mehr loslässt. Mit ihrer eindringlichen, fast zerbrechlichen Stimme und ihrem akustisch reduzierten wie treibenden Gitarrensound verströmt circle&wind eine wunderbare Magie. Pop, der in ganz eigenen Sphären lebt und wie aus der Zeit gefallen scheint.
Am 4. Juni 2021 erscheint der Erstling „O“ in Eigenregie. Fünf Kapitel erzählen darauf eine ganz eigene, alte Geschichte vom Sterben und Leben, der Ambivalenz des Seins, vom Geben und Genommen werden, von einer Reise des Wandels.
Eine ganz eigene Geschichte, das beschreibt auch den musikalischen Weg, den circle&wind aka Viola Petsch bisher beschritten hat. Obwohl Musik und vor allem das Singen seit ihrer Kindheit nicht aus dem Leben der Würzburger Musikerin und Contemporary Art-Künstlerin wegzudenken waren und sie mit Beginn ihrer Teenagerzeit gemeinsam mit ihrem Bruder Musik machte und eigene Songs schrieb, folgte sie nicht, die typische Laufbahn einer Musikerin. Anstelle von Bands oder Projekten gab es ein Studium und einen „normalen“ Beruf. Die Musik und die Kunst waren nie weg, nur waren sie eben auch nie ganz da. Bis dem quasi das eigene Leben selbst in die Quere kam und Musik und Kunst letztlich in den Mittelpunkt rücken konnten.
Musik ist für circle&wind ihr „safe space“. Sie hilft, eigene Schutzschilder zu durchbrechen. „Ich habe gelernt, das Schwere mit meiner Kunst zu nutzen. Hat mich früher Schmerz benutzt, so steuert er mich jetzt nicht mehr. Ich benutze ihn.“ „Singen gibt mir dabei das Gefühl, vollständig zu sein. Wenn ich singe, dann bin ich ganz.“
Das hört man dieser EP auch an. Ins Innere vordringen. Genau hinhören, auch wenn es wehtut. So atmet auf „O“ eine innere Losgelassenheit, die seinesgleichen sucht. Mit sich und allem im Reinen sein, selbst im Moment von Selbstzerwürfnis. Viele Facetten flimmern in circle&wind, aber eine klare Reduziertheit und leichtfüßige Melancholie sind allgegenwärtig. So tut circle&wind Welten auf, um sie neu zu verknüpfen.Ein wesentlicher Moment auf dem Weg zur Debüt-EP war ein kurzer, virtueller Austausch mit Sängerin Sharon Van Etten, die gespannt war, wie circle&wind klingen mag. Das war der Impuls, der eine erste Demoaufnahme in Bewegung setzte.
Ein weiteres Puzzlestück war die Zusammenarbeit mit Musiker und Produzent Nikita Kamprad (Der Weg einer Freiheit), mit dem Viola gemeinsam ihr eigenes Studio und Atelier aufgebaut hat, „ein Ort, an dem jeder sich wohlfühlt.“ Jetzt konnte circle&wind eine ganz eigene Dynamik entfesseln – und das so intuitiv, wie es nur geht.
Nikita Kamprad, der ursprünglich aus dem Metal-Bereich stammt, hat für circle&wind einen Sound kreiert, der mit ausgefeilt sensiblen wie opulenten Arrangements dieser EP eine große emotionale Tiefe und Wucht verleiht. Wenn hallende Akkordgitarren über die vollen Flure des eigenen Seelenlebens geistern, zeigt sich die volle Intimität der Produktion.
„decisions“, der erste Song der EP, beschreibt die Geschichte eines vermeintlichen Endes, das letztlich der Anfang von etwas Neuem ist – und eröffnet damit eine Odyssee: „O“. Mit „re:flection“ wagt circle&wind dann den Blick in den Spiegel, den Moment, in dem man sich selbst in die Augen sehen muss. Der Wendepunkt, das ist „the storm“. Verzerrte Synthesizer pulsieren unter blühender Lebenskraft und treiben voran. Wenn es kein Zurück gibt, dann gilt: Innehalten, ein kurzes Zögern und hinein in den Sturm. „After the storm you won’t be the same.“
Mit leicht angezerrter E-Gitarre und einem rein intuitiv verfassten Text begleitet „sun and dance“ circle&wind und damit den Hörer auf dem letzten Stück des Weges, bis sie endlich zuhause und damit bei sich ankommen kann: „home“ – wenn der Kreis sich zur vollen Perfektion schließt. „O“
