Album STRAY auf eigenem Label Hylas Records. Der begnadete Sänger und Songpoet und mittlerweile Produzent mit eigenem Label, hat sich auf STRAY alle Freiheiten genommen, ist auf Reisen gegangen, mit einem Mini-Studio im Gepäck zog Azier durch Städte und Länder, fand neue Inspirationen, lebte seine musikalischen Passionen aus, um sie letztlich in Songs und ein komplettes Album fließen zu lassen. STRAY ist wunderbar anders und gleichwohl ein Bindeglied und gebührender Nachfolger seiner gefeierten Vorgänger. Während Aziers Debutalbum „Hylas“ (2014) in Berlin entstand und Paris eine Schlüsselrolle bei der Entstehung seines zweiten Albums „Rouge“ (2017) spielte, komponierte und produzierte Azier die Songs seines dritten Albums STRAY (2018) auf seinen Reisen zwischen Kyoto, Abidjan, Paris, New York, Berlin und seinem Heimatland den Niederlanden. Die Spannung des ständigen Reisens hatte eine inspirierende Wirkung auf Aziers Kreativität und veränderte seine Schreib- und Produktionsprozesse. Dies führte dazu, dass er das gesamte Album statt klassisch im Studio, in verschiedenen Hotels und Wohnungen auf seinem Laptop mit einem einfachen USB-Mikrofon aufnahm. Die Songs auf STRAY sind somit eng und tief miteinander verwoben und haben ihre besondere Entstehungsgeschichte. So ist die neue Single „Vertigo“ in Abidjan (Elfenbeinküste) entstanden. Mit einem prägnanten und immer wiederkehrenden Gitarrensound bringt Aziers neue Hymne einen sofort an diesen pulsierenden Ort. Azier lernte dort viele lokale Künstler kennen und tauschte sich intensiv über Musik, Kunst und das Leben aus. Wie immer hatte er sein kleines Reise-Studio aufgebaut, das aus zwei kleinen Lautsprechern, einen Laptop und USB-Mic bestand. „Ich schrieb und produzierte, wenn mir der Sinn danach stand und lud lokale Musiker ein zu Jammen und einfach eine gute Zeit zusammen zu haben. Ich wollte in diesem Song über meine Angst schreiben, einfach loslassen. Die Unfähigkeit mich einfach dem Moment hinzugeben und die Kontrolle aufzugeben. Die Textpassagen 'falling into Vertigo' und 'taking it slow' wurden die Ankerpunkte des Songs. Alles fließt und dreht sich - ohne dass ich versuche es aufzuhalten. Ich hoffe, dass es niemals aufhört!“ Thomas Azier verfolgt somit unbeirrt seinen eigenen musikalischen Weg und schafft es dabei, seinen unvergleichlichen Sound stetig weiterzuentwickeln. Über Thomas Azier Der mittlerweile in Berlin und Paris lebende und arbeitende Sänger, Songwriter und Produzent wurde durch großartige Songs und Hymnen wie „Talk To Me“,„Red Eyes“ und „Gold“ und seine preisgekrönten Vorgänger Alben „Hylas“ (2014) & „Rouge“ (2017 PdSK „Bestes Album des Jahres“) weltweit bekannt. Als 19 jähriger verließ Thomas Azier sein kleines niederländisches Dorf und zog nach Berlin, um seinen eigenen musikalischen Stil zu entwickeln. Einige Jahre später veröffentlichte er sein erstes Album Hylas. Nach einer längeren Live- und Tourphase (u.a. Europatour mit Woodkid) zog es ihn nach Paris, wo er sein zweites Album Rouge aufnahm und herausbrachte. Beide Alben erhielten einen Edison Award (niederländischer Musik Preis). Die Single „Talk To Me“, des Albums ‘Rouge’ wurde als Megahit des niederländischen Radiosenders 3FM geehrt, ebenfalls erhielt das Album den “Preis der Deutschen Schallplattenkritik”. Azier arbeitete als Songwriter und Produzent neben vielen anderen Künstlern auch mit Diplo und Stromae zusammen und wurde von letzterem auch dazu eingeladen, in 2013 und 2014 seine europäischen Shows als Vorprogramm zu unterstützen. Seitdem hat Azier neben ausverkauften Shows in Paris, Amsterdam und New York ebenfalls auf unzähligen Festivals wie den niederländischen Best Kept Secret und Lowlands sowie Eurockéennes und Montreal Music Festival sein Live Talent bewiesen. Sie vereint darin die 4 Elemente und läutet gleichzeitig eine neue Periode ihres künstlerischen Schaffens ein. Es ist außerdem der Vorbote für das nunmehr sechstes Album "Omens To Come" , das im Sommer 2019 erscheint. Die EP BLUE ROSES, bestehend aus vier Songs, repräsentiert ein jeder die vier Elemente und sind gleichzeitig eine persönliche Reise in Karins Leben. So symbolisiert der pulsierende mystische Titelsong und erste Single „Blue Roses“ daslodernde Feuer, das tief schwebende „Roaring Ocean“steht für das Element Wasser, dass sphärische „Glass House“ für die Luft und das dramatisch düstere „Sharpe Edge“ für die Wurzeln aller Kraft, die Erde.Die Stücke sind außerdem inspiriert von Dichtern wie Jean Genet, Patti Smith und Federico García Lorca. Diese EP hat eine neue Gewichtung in Karin Parks bisherigen Schaffens. Ihr früherer industrieller Sound hat sich in eine organische und warme Klanglandschaft verwandelt, die tief in das Bewusstsein eindringt. Die anfängliche Unschuld, die in ihrer Stimme zu finden ist, hat jetzt einen kraftvolleren Ton. Gleichzeitig erkennt man immer noch ihren prägenden Sound, die Synthies und die elektronischen Details. Karin selbst sagt, dass die EP „Blue Roses“ eine neue Periode ihrer künstlerischen Karriere darstellt. Sie wurde u.a. zusammen mit Robot Koch produziert und von Tom Biller (Kate Nash, Fiona Apple, Warpaint, Kanye West) gemischt. Karin Park kehrt somit nach ihrem letzten erfolgreichen Album „Apocalpyse Pop“ (2015) und dem Elektro-Projekt „Pandora Drive“ mit einer kraftvollen neuen EP zurück. Mit ihrem düsteren Sound aus Elektronik und mystischem Pop, ihrer außergewöhnlichen, fast übersinnlichen Stimme sowie ihren großartigen tiefgründigen Texten zieht sie jeden magisch in ihren Bann. Karins Zuhause ist gleichzeitig ihre kreative Produktionsstätte, eine umgebaute Kirche in Djura/Schweden, in der sie das Studio mit ihrem Ehemann Kjetil Nernes, dem Frontmann der Underground-Kultband Årabrot, aufgebaut hat. Gemeinsam haben die beiden ein eigenes kleines Reich in den tiefen Wäldern von Dalarna erschaffen. Hier hat Karin ihre neue EP zusammen mit dem preisgekrönten Produzenten Robot Koch aus Berlin, ICHI aus Tokio und Richard X aus London aufgenommen. Co-Produzenten sind außerdem Nick Sheldon, Blackhill und Ehemann Kjetil Nernes. Die EP wurde von Tom Biller, dem mehrfach ausgezeichneten Produzenten, der für seine Arbeit mit Warpaint, Kate Nash und dem Kanye West-Album 'Late Registration' bekannt ist, gemischt. Djura ist auch das Dorf, in dem das Musikvideo zur ersten Single „Blue Roses“ vom Fotografen und Co-Produzenten Olle Lundin ((Fotograf First Aid Kit „Stay Gold“, Video-Team iamamiwhoami), aufgenommen wurde. Der Song handelt über das Erwachsenwerden und davon, als Kind naiv und verletzlich zu sein, mehr Schutz, Kraft und letztendlich mehr Selbstbestimmung zu bekommen. In dem Video sind die Kinder aus dem Dorf zu sehen, in dem Karin aufwuchs. Die örtliche Schule läuft Gefahr, geschlossen zu werden. Karin möchte mit dem Video die Aufmerksamkeit auf die Kinder, ihrem Anliegen und Problematik lenken. Der Entstehungsort von „Blue Roses“ ist ebenso geheimnisvoll, wie der Song. Wenn du während eines Abendessens unter hohen Decken an einem massiven dunklen Eichentisch aus Transsilvanien von Tierschädeln und goldenen Kronleuchtern umgeben sein möchtest, solltest du einen Ausflug in das Haus und Atelier von Karin Park machen. Es ist gleichzeitig ein Statement zur Zeit. Das Video zum Song wurde von dem österreichischen Regisseur Anton B. Pevny (u.a. Bilderbuch, Moby, Bonaparte, Romano, Die Toten Hosen) gedreht. Doch zunächst zum Song: Der euphorische Blick und die brachiale Harmonie Schon die ersten Töne sind wie kaltes Wasser ins Gesicht. SOLAR ist eine Hymne zur Zeit. „Es geht darum, dem Hass etwas entgegen zu setzen,“ erklärt der gebürtige Berliner Victor Bensmann, der Kopf hinter ALLES SOLAR. Victor, der schon mit neun begonnen hat seine ersten Songs zu schreiben, spricht vor allem zu all den Menschen, die an dieser Zeit verzweifeln, jedoch im Grunde zufrieden sind und deswegen still. Es gilt, dass auch sie laut sind, laut vor Standhaftigkeit – und er betont, dass auch er sich zu diesen Menschen zählt. „Mir geht es gut. Ich bin glücklich in meinem Leben. Doch das macht bequem.“ Es ist auch dieser persönliche Konflikt, der in SOLAR seinen Ausdruck findet. Stille Wasser werden Wellen seinheißt es deswegen in einem anderen Lied von ALLES SOLAR, und das erinnert an #wirsindmehr, obwohl der Song schon lange davor entstanden ist. Positive Energie aus Veränderungen mitzunehmen - darum geht es ihm. Zusammen mit Produzent Nicolas Rebscher (u.a. Alice Merton, Aurora, Henry Green) hat Victor in diesem Sinne eine einzigartige Klangmischung für ALLES SOLAR gefunden, eine Sprache aus elektronischen Beats, die zum Kopfnicken zwingen und Synthies, die zusammen mit dem Rhythmus einen massiven Groove entwickeln. Dazu Victors eigene Art von Sprechgesang, erzählend, zwischen Rap und Liedermacher, der seinen Weg unter deine Haut nimmt. „Ich finde, dass es gut passt“, sagt Victor einfach und untertreibt dabei maßlos, denn seine Stimme nimmt die Wucht der Musik und macht sie zu etwas Intimem. Album STRAY auf eigenem Label Hylas Records. Nach der gleichnamigen EP, die im Sommer bereits ein erstes Zeichen setzte, folgt nun die neue Single „Vertigo“ eine starke frische Hymne, die gleich beim ersten Hören pures Lebensgefühl und Energie verströmt. Der mittlerweile in Berlin und Paris lebende und arbeitende Sänger, Songwriter und Produzent wurde durch großartige Songs und Hymnen wie „Talk To Me“, „Red Eyes“ und „Gold“ und seine preisgekrönten Vorgänger Alben „Hylas“ (2014) & „Rouge“ (2017 PdSK „Bestes Album des Jahres“) weltweit bekannt. Insbesondere in Europa hat sich Thomas Azier bereits als feste Größe in Sachen Indie-Pop etabliert. Während seine Debutalbum „Hylas“ in Berlin entstand und Paris eine Schlüsselrolle bei seinem zweiten Album „Rouge“ spielte, komponierte und produzierte Azier die Songs seines dritten Albums STRAY auf seinen Reisen zwischen Kyoto, Abidjan, Paris, New York, Berlin und seinem Heimatland den Niederlanden. Die Spannung des ständigen Reisens hatte eine inspirierende Wirkung auf Aziers Kreativität und veränderte seine Schreib- und Produktionsprozesse. Dies führte dazu, dass er das gesamte Album statt klassisch im Studio, in verschiedenen Hotels und Wohnungen auf seinem Laptop mit einem einfachen USB-Mikrofon aufnahm. So ist die neue Single „Vertigo“ in Abidjan (Elfenbeinküste) entstanden. Mit einem prägnanten und immer wiederkehrenden Gitarrensound bringt Aziers neue Hymne einen sofort an diesen pulsierenden Ort. Azier lernte dort viele lokale Künstler kennen und tauschte sich intensiv über Musik, Kunst und das Leben aus. Wie immer hatte er sein kleines Reise-Studio aufgebaut, das aus zwei kleinen Lautsprechern, einen Laptop und USB-Mic bestand. „Ich schrieb und produzierte, wenn mir der Sinn danach stand und lud lokale Musiker ein zu Jammen und einfach eine gute Zeit zusammen zu haben. Ich wollte in diesem Song über meine Angst schreiben, einfach loslassen. Die Unfähigkeit mich einfach dem Moment hinzugeben und die Kontrolle aufzugeben. Die Textpassagen 'falling into Vertigo' und 'taking it slow' wurden die Ankerpunkte des Songs. Alles fließt und dreht sich - ohne dass ich versuche es aufzuhalten. Während der Club-Beat noch in den Beinen sitzt, die Synapsen ertappen, wie sie sich verselbständigen und ein buntes Kopfkino anwerfen… Genau diesen Moment verkörpert die Newcomer-Band Friedrich Chiller aus Dresden. Der junge Sound und die bildreichen, deutschsprachigen Rap-Lyrics der Band scheinen am Trommelfell zu fluoreszieren. So alltäglich und so dada wie das Leben, und immer ein bisschen high. Seit der Debüt-EP „Wunschinsel“ (2017) sind die drei Bandmitglieder zu einem symbiotischen Team zusammengewachsen und haben ihre Musik laufend weiterentwickelt. Valentin – Vokalist, Bassist und künstlerischer Kopf von Friedrich Chiller – hat dutzende neue Songs getextet und vorproduziert, welche die Band zusammen fit für die Bühne gemacht hat. Das musikalische Ergebnis haben die Jungs Cloudpop getauft: Eine erfrischende Mixtur von synthetischen Sounds aus Trap und Cloudrap, plakativen 80er-Referenzen und warmen, organischen Band-Grooves. PILZE IM HONIG – BLAUER HONIG „Blauer Honig“ ist die erste Single aus ihrem Debüt Album, das im Frühjahr 2019 bei sonokraft erscheint. Die Idee zu dem Song kam Valentin aufgrund eines fun fact, den ihm ein Freund erzählte: Honig verfärbe sich blau, wenn man halluzinogene Pilze darin einlegt, um sie zu konservieren. Um dieses kuriose Phänomen entspinnt sich im Song eine illustre Vorstadt-Story inklusive Polizeistreife und unzureichend qualifiziertem Drogenspürhund. Mit viel Drive und dennoch tiefenentspannt spielen sich funky Gitarren-Riffs und farbstarke Synthie-Sounds gegenseitig die Bälle zu und tauchen zwischenzeitlich in eine psychedelisch-berauschten Bridge ein. An der Entstehung des Songs hat der Berliner Produzent Jan Listing mitgewirkt. Außerdem haben die Jungs für die Produktion ihrer neuen Songs die Crème de la Crème als Partner gewonnen: Zebo Adam, der sich bereits als Produzent von Bilderbuch, dem zweiten Album von Zeal & Ardor und weiterer renommierter Acts hohe Anerkennung in der internationalen Musikszene erarbeitet hat. Thomas Azier zur Entstehung des Songs: „Echoes“ ist meine Vorstellung eines klassischen Songs im Jahr 2018. Mit Hilfe einer Software habe ich akustische Gitarren bis zu Unkenntlichkeit programmiert und verändert. Ziel war es sie übermenschlich klingen zu lassen. Audios schneiden, mit ihnen spielen und einfach schauen was passiert. Den Beat habe ich wie so oft in einem Hotelzimmer programmiert. Erst lasse ich ihn über die winzigen Lautsprecher meines Computers plärren. Das verzerrte und raue Endprodukt verfeinere ich dann während der Programmierung. Die Verse habe ich in einer Fabrikhalle in einem Berliner Studio aufgenommen. Um dem Nachhall entgegenzuwirken habe ich während meiner Reise nach Japan Chöre eingearbeitet. Sie verleihen dem Song etwas leichtes, frisches und modernes. Das Ende entstand mit Hilfe eines billigen Headsets. Mit dem Track knüpft sie powervoll an die bisherigen Songs ihrer letzten Singles „Secrets“ und EP „Othersides“ an und schafft es eine noch eindringlichere Nummer vorzulegen. „Someone New“ - Song als Reaktion auf zerbrochene Liebe. Komponiert hat die Songwriterin den Song in nur 30 Minuten. Ein persönlicher Rekord mit besonderem Hintergrund: „Meine neue Single ist als Reaktion auf einen schmerzhaften Moment entstanden. Ich bin den Impulsen tief aus meinem Inneren gefolgt und habe in meinen Gefühlen so viel Inspiration wie nie zuvor gefunden“, erklärt die Sängerin. In dem Song sind mehr Emotionen von KERY FAY spürbar als je zuvor. In „Someone New“ teilt KERY FAY ihr eigenes Empfinden nach einer zerbrochenen Liebe. Sie offenbart einerseits ihre Enttäuschung über den Verlust, anderseits verzweifelt sie aber nicht an der Leere und zeigt stattdessen Stärke: „Now I run through the endless devotion. Ihre Songs sind Kunstwerke – aramäischer HipHop, kabbalistischer Rap und Spoken-Word-Performances. Victoria Hanna bewegt sich zwischen alter Musik und zeitgenössischen, elektronischen Beats, zwischen philosophischen und religiösen Texten. Verschiedene Gesangs- und Sprachtechniken prägen ihre Kompositionen. Sie erforscht die Grenzen des Stimmklangs, sie spielt mit den Buchstaben, rezitiert das Aleph-Bet. Sie springt, bändigt und betört. Auf dem Album sind 10 selbstgeschriebene und komponierte Songs aus Pop, Hip Hop und israelischer Musik, die Herkunft, Tradition und Wandel in die Moderne wohl kaum besser ausdrücken könnten. Sie kreiert in ihren Songs, aufsehenerregenden Videos, Bild und Design ihres Gesamtauftritts ihre ganz eigene Welt. Das Video ihrer ersten Single „Aleph Bet“ (Hoshana“) wurde mit über 1,2 Mio Aufrufen zum viralen Youtube-Hit: Es ist ein rappendes Gebet für den Regen, einem Teil der Hoshanot-Gebete, die wie das Alphabet arrangiert sind. Victoria verkörpert darin zwei Persönlichkeiten, die Lehrerin und Schülerin - zwei Charaktere, die beide tief in ihr wohnen. Regie führte Asaf Korman, in dessen Film „Next to her“ 2014 Hanna mitspielte und bei den Filmfestspielen von Cannes seine Premiere feierte. Benannt ist Victoria Hanna nach ihren Großmüttern – Victoria mutig und rebellisch, Hanna ergeben und behütend. Ihr Debütalbum, in dem sie mit den hebräischen Texten ihrer Kindheit arbeitet, hat sie nach diesen beiden Frauen benannt. Der erste Teil, Victoria, konzentriert sich auf die rhythmische Macht der Sprache und Buchstaben. Der zweite Teil, Hanna, hat die Stimme im Fokus. Auch wenn Victoria Hanna sich als Tochter eines Jerusalemer Rabbi ihren Zugang zur Welt außerhalb der Religion erkämpft hat – die jüdisch-orthodoxe Tradition ist ihre Inspiration und Gegenstand ihrer künstlerischen Auseinandersetzung geblieben.
